News: Nintendo 's Mighty Six

Nintendo held a briefing yesterday in Kyoto to explain the managerial changes in the company.

As reported last month, Hiroshi Yamauchi has retired as Nintendo's president and will serve as an advisor to the company. In his place, former software director Satoru Iwata has been inagurated as president. While Iwata-san may be the public face of the company, key decisions will be decided by an executive committee consisting of six members.

According to former president Yamauchi-san, the group leadership model will ensure equal consideration for all business matters. Formally introduced at today's briefing, Nintendo's six executive committee members are; Satoru Iwata, Atsushi Asada, Shigeru Miyamoto, Shinji Hatano, Genyo Takeda, and Yoshihiro Mori.

Shigeru Miyamoto briefly spoke at yesterday's event reflecting upon last month's E3 Expo by saying, "We delivered an early playable version of Zelda for the GameCube at E3 last month, and unlike the criticism we received from the initial video footage of the game, 99 percent of the feedback we received was positive."
