The very first LG Action Sports Championship is coming up, and Nintendo are one of the sponsors.
LG Mobile Phones, a world leader in the development and manufacturing of personal communication devices, will be the premier sponsor for the first-ever LG Action Sports Championships to take place from November 15-23rd.
There will be championships for skateboarding, freestyle BMX, freestyle motocross and inline skating, the world's four largest summer action sports. Nearly 200 of the top skateboarders, inline skaters, freestyle motocross and BMX riders from all over the world will compete for the title of World Champion in each of their respective sports. More than $600,000 in prize money will be offered, making the LG Action Sports Championship the largest per-sport purse in action sports history.
Nintendo will be sponsoring the event, as well as Paul Mitchell, Yoo-hoo and Butterfinger, with additional sponsors to be announced.
The LG Action Sports Championships will be televised on Fox Sports during a minimum of 16 hours of programming in the U.S. from November 28 - January 3 and will be seen in 180 countries.
