News: Nintendo Supporting 3rd Parties on eShop

Shigeru Miyamoto claims that Nintendo are not looking to impose restrictions on third party developers with the eShop.

Since the WiiWare service was first released several years ago, and followed shortly after by the DSiWare service, third party developers have struggled at times to ensure their games fit within Nintendo's parameters. This problem has led some games to be scaled down, changed to a different platform or be outright cancelled.

In an interview published today Shigeru Miyamoto tells The Telegraph that when the 3DS eShop is launched this will not be the case. Mr. Miyamoto explains that "you need specific, meaningful software for the 3DS," and according to The Telegraph he went on to indicate that "Nintendo are not looking to impose restrictions on third parties".

The eShop feature is still set to be released in May, although there is only a few weeks left in the month and Nintendo is still yet to provide official release details. The first third party Virtual Console titles on the eShop service have been uncovered today.
