News: Nintendo Takes Top 3 In Australia

It was about time Nintendo obtained some considerable success in Australia. With Metroid Prime for GameCube, and Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire for the Game Boy Advance, Nintendo takes the Top 3 spots in the Australian charts. Here's the official press release:
Australia, Melbourne, April 11th 2003, Nintendo Australia aces the Top 10 gaming charts across all platforms for week ending April 6th 2003.
After just four days of retail sales Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire for the Game Boy Advance and Metroid� Prime for the Nintendo GameCube took out the Top 3 spots on the charts.
This result is confirmation that the Pokémon phenomena is still alive and kicking in Australia, says David Yarnton, Director of Sales and Marketing, Nintendo Australia. We are receiving reports from retail that stores are sold out or close to selling out. The demand for these much anticipated titles has been so high that re-orders started flowing through early Monday morning.
Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire have become the highest selling Game Boy Advance titles on launch to date, with sales of 9,236 units and 8,154 units respectively in only four days.
Metroid Prime for the Nintendo GameCube has debuted as the biggest GameCube launch title this year with launch sales of 4,145 units.
