News: Nintendo Trademark Odd Names

In a few months time will we be talking about how much we love our "COMMANDERPACK"? Maybe.

Nintendo of Japan have recently registered a crazy array of trademarks. The list consists of "COMMANDERPACK," "COMMANDER," "MISSION," "Manebito/Camera," "Ningen-Copy/Manebito," and "Peach Hime.". Yes, you're not the only one who is confused.

"Peach Hime" in Japanese means "Peach Princess", so it wouldn't be too radical to suggest its about everyone's favourite frequently-captured blonde. The most common suggestion floating around the internet is a Dancing game featuring the Princess. Other more bizarre ones may not be suitable for readers under eighteen.

"COMMANDERPACK" "COMMANDER" and "MISSION" remain a mystery. Maybe something to do with Advance Wars: Under Fire, maybe something to do with... well who knows really.

However the far odder sounding "Manebito/Camera" and "Ningen-Copy/Manebito" are a bit easier to decipher. The keen-eyed readers may have noticed the word "camera." This has led to many rumours on the rumour tree that is the internet. The most common suggestion is a camera not unlike the Eye Toy for the PlayStation.

While Nintendo first showcased a camera many years back for the N64 due to Sony's mass market appeal it has led many to believe Sony invented the idea. It has even been around on PCs for years so it is far from intuitive.

Logos for "Manebito/Camera" and "Ningen-Copy/Manebito" have been registered as well. They are the usual niche affair you find in Japan and can be found below.
