News: Nintendo UK Names Top Xmas Games

Nintendo UK's boss David Yarnton has named the top games of the season from the company...

Speaking to MCV, David Yarnton, Nintendo's UK General Manager has named the "key first party products" from Nintendo this Christmas as Professor Layton and the Curious Village on the DS, while the Wii sees Wii Music and Animal Crossing: Let's Go To The City.

That's a pretty short list. Yarnton qualified this by saying that there was of course the "'evergreen' back catalogue of titles" already released on the systems, including Brain Training, Mario Kart DS, New Super Mario Bros, Nintendogs on DS and Wii Fit, Mario Kart, Mario Galaxy, Smash Bros. and more on Wii.

Nintendo really seem to be pushing these old titles - probably because healthy user base and general sales figures suggest that a great number of people will be picking up a DS or a Wii for the first time this holiday season. And thus, they will be opening themselves up to Nintendo's brilliant back catalogue for the first time. But for those that have been playing the above back catalogue of titles for a while already, is three titles really enough?

Let us know what games you'll be hoping for this Christmas below - third party games included!
