News: Nintendo UK Reveal Marketing Blitz Plans

Nintendo UK reveal that 2007 will see their biggest marketing spend ever!

Gone are the days when European Nintendo fans would regularly complain about the lack of decent advertising. Recent DS and Wii releases have seen major campaigns across several mass-media platforms, with over 1 million being spent on the recent launch of Mario Strikers Charged Football.

Speaking to MCV, a Nintendo UK representative has confirmed that 2007 will see their biggest marketing budget ever, with upcoming promotions for Mario Party 8 and Big Brain Academy set to both exceed the 1 million mark.

Nintendo certainly have the cash coming in to splash, but also reason that with mass-market titles to advertise, more substantial mass market campaigns are needed.

Wii product manager Rob Lowe also confirmed a second burst of advertising around the Christmas season - likely to be when Europe sees such the Big Three titles Nintendo fans have been waiting for: Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption and Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
