News: Nintendo USA Announce 'Wii Raincheck'

Nintendo of America's Reggie Fils-Aime announces a new way to try and help Wii shortages...

With the Wii still in short supply across the world, Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime has announced a "raincheck program" for the many still hunting for a Wii, over one year after release.

Nintendo are partnering with retailer GameStop to allow customers on December 20th and 21st to prepay for Wii consoles, which are then guaranteed to be with them by the end of January.

However, the "tens of thousands" of "raincheck" promises will surely also run out (think that the Wii sold almost a million units in the US during November alone). Additionally, though the promise of there being light at the end of the tunnel will be comfort to a few, there will still be nothing physically to put under the tree on Christmas morning.
