News: Nintendo Wii Production Rate Revealed

Should producing this many consoles really still mean that the Wii is out of stock?
Earlier today in Nintendo's press conference, Jinyou Mori, Senior Managing Director at Nintendo, revealed just how many consoles are being produced each month to try and keep up the demand. What's the magic number? It's 1.8 million. That's how many are produced and can prove to be still tricky to find. Is it any wonder why Satoru Iwata was upset when Nintendo got accused of holding back stock?
Mori-San also stated that this will be the amount produced until the end of the fiscal year in March 2008 and that increasing the production rate is possible and it's something Nintendo is currently discussing.
With increased production, will Nintendo fulfil demand next Christmas?
