News: Nintendo Wins Another Emmy

Nintendo snatches an Emmy for the second year in a row.

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences awarded Nintendo with an Emmy Award for excellence in engineering creativity yesterday in Las Vegas at the annual Technological & Engineering Emmy Awards. The innovative motion sensing controls on the Wii along with DS' touch screen and dual screens that attracted a broader audience to videogames were the reasons for the award. Last year Nintendo was honored with the same Emmy, due to the creation of the D-Pad, which revolutionised the control of not only videogames, but many other electronic appliances.

NoA's executive vice president of operations, Don James, said to the press: "The pioneering interfaces for Wii and Nintendo DS reflect our long tradition of seeking new ways to enhance the gaming experience for users at every level (...) We're grateful for this award and thank the academy for honoring us a second time."

Same time next year?
