It seems that Nintendo will be releasing Nintendogs in three different editions. Each edition will contain its own set of dogs waiting your instruction. Each edition and the dogs they contain are broken down below.

Edition 1 Dachs & Friends

- Miniature Schnauzer
- Yorkshire Terrier
- Miniature Dachshund
- German Shepherd
- Pug

Edition 2 Chihuahua & Friends

- Cavalier King Charles Spaniel
- Chihuahua
- Shih Tzu
- Labrador Retriever
- Beagle

Edition 3 Shiba & Friends

- Shetland Sheepdog
- Miniature Pinscher
- Shiba
- Welsh Corgie Puppy
- Toy Poodle

Update

Newly released info seems to show that although each game comes with its own 5 dogs. After communication with other edition owners, you can "Collect" and end up with all 15 dogs. (Very Pokemon like) The Dogs will also be able to communicate with each other whilst the DS's are in sleep mode
