Satoru Iwata has discussed Nintendo's plan to further the DS' lifespan - bringing out previously unreleased titles in all territories.
Speaking to investors Satoru Iwata has claimed that they are considering releasing DS titles in Western regions that are currently only available in Japan according to Eurogamer.
With the 3DS' release only a few months away Nintendo are already preparing their plans on how it would be best to ensure that the DS isn't forgotten about. In his proposition titles that are currently only released in Japan may finally be localised in other territories.
"However, even some of the titles that Mr. Miyamoto was involved with, such as the original Animal Crossing, were first launched only in Japan, and only after the localisation teams outside Japan were able to appreciate the appeal of the software, our overseas subsidiaries requested us to launch the same titles in their countries."
"As a result, some software has already proved its marketability in Japan but is still not available in the overseas markets, and for some software titles, our localisation teams are currently spending time to localise them."
Staff member Aaron Clegg recently discussed what titles are 'missing in action' but which currently unreleased titles would you love to see?
