News: Nintendo's Financial Report 2003

Nintendo have released their financial report for the fiscal year 2003. Find out how they did inside.

Nintendo's financial report has been released. As well as the usual facts and figures Nintendo have decided to make a lot known about the company.

Choosing to push the financial information to the back Nintendo spent the first 52 pages reminding us about Nintendo in general.

It includes opinions on Nintendo by it's buyers, details on all hardware and lots of pictures. As well as this there is a forward by Satoru Iwata.

Other interesting parts include the history of Nintendo, in-game pictures of a lot of already released and upcoming titles (including Stage Debut which hasn't been seen since E3 2003) and a man who seems to think that the Game Boy Advance SP is a mobile phone.

Onto the financial side here are the highlights:

  • GameCube sales in Japan are at 2.47 million
  • Game Boy Advance sales in Japan are at 10.6 million
  • Software sales for the Game Boy Advance in Japan are at 29.88 million
  • Software sales for the GameCube in Japan are at 10.39 million
  • GameCube units sold outside Japan are at 7.08 million
  • Game Boy Advance units sold outside Japan are at 23.75
  • Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire cumulative sales are 6,660,000
  • Net Sales= 503,748 Yen, down 50,665 Yen from 2002

There is a lot more financial information however most of it is not terribly exciting unless you are interested in it. The link for the downloadable pdf file is http://www.nintendo.com/corp/report/fiscal2003.pdf.

Update

People have noticed that the report is a year old and yes it is our fault. We are sorry for the confusion and no it was not done on purpose. However I did check and we have not reported this before, so its some late news for you.
