Are the two companies destined to merge? No. But Reggie Fils-Aime gives us his thoughts on the iPod creators anyway...
Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime has commented on Apple, after being asked if the two companies might ever team up. Saying that Nintendo is often compared to Apple, he said he took that as very complimentary: "They're a company that has a similar mindset that technology is important, but it's the use and application of the technology that is most important."
He recognised that the two companies shared a vision of making content and functionality easy and painless, and that Apple, like Nintendo, "tends to be the type of company that likes to keep its own ecosystem by itself ... That might make any type of partnership a bit more challenging."
So while we might not be seeing an iTunes Channel on the Wii anytime soon, its good to know the two companies respect each other, without the usual mud-slinging that comes from corporate CEOs.
