After seven years, the charming platforming series starring the little yellow starfish finally heads to the west.

Nintendo of America have decided to surprise people with a flash announcement, and much to the joy of fans, the GBA/DS Starfy series is finally receiving an English translation with The Legendary Starfy for DS.

"In The Legendary Starfy� game, which launches June 8, players dive into a spectacular undersea adventure with Starfy, the legendary hero of Pufftop. Players swoop into enemies like a shooting star, glide over bottomless chasms and transform into powerful creatures to help a mysterious, bunny-eared visitor find his lost memory."

As of yet, we don't know if this localised game is the first or second installment for the DS.

Developed by TOSE and published by Nintendo, Starfy is a series of charming platformers starring a cute yellow starfish, which focus more on swimming than running and jumping. As the press release says, American DS owners can expect the game on the 8th of June, with a European release yet to be confirmed.
