News: NintendoWiFi.co.uk Online!

The good news - NintendoWiFi.co.uk is finally online. The bad news? Check inside...

A week after Nintendo's flagship Wi-Fi title Mario Kart launched, and Nintendo have finally taken the wraps off their Wi-Fi site for the UK and Ireland - NintendoWiFi.co.uk. Don't expect anything new when clicking on - if you've seen the American site, it'll all look very familiar.

The bad news is that the many other European WiFi sites - the French NintendoWiFi.fr, for example still aren't online. The German NintendoWiFi.de site has launched, but others including the Italian, Spanish and Dutch versions are still displaying the old "finishing touches" teaser page.

But while we expect the other language sites to be up (eventually), what is worrying is that there seems to be no ability to register to the site as you can with the US one, which gives you a profile for you to check your gaming stats and scores in. The US site allows you to link your MyNintendo account and WiFi ID, and many had expected you'd be able to do the same with Europe's VIP 24:7 scheme, but this doesn't look like it'll be the case.
