News: Ninty Wins Dismissal of Lawsuit

Uri Geller attempted to sue Nintendo in 2000 over a claim that he was used as the likeness for the Pokemon 'Alakazam'. Despite his 'psychic' powers, he couldn't persuade a US judge...

In 2000, Uri Geller sued Nintendo over a character from the well-known Pokemon series, shown holding a bent spoon, as Geller claims to be able to do, and is described as a psychic able to send 'alpha waves' and give people headaches. A federal US judge said that Nintendo didn't import the cards into the US and must be sued in Japan if he wanted to go through with his claim.
The insane nutter (Geller) claims that Nintendo turned him into an "evil, occult Pokemon character."

So Nintendo may have won this round, but Geller's lawyers are saying that Geller will sue Nintendo of Japan.
