News: NMH3 on 'Wii 2'

Suda51's earlier comments about No More Heroes 2 being the last incarnation on the Wii seems to have been misinterpreted as he plans to continue the franchise, but on the Wii's successor.

Suda51, the creator of the No More Heroes franchise, unintentionally caused a storm amongst gamers in July when he stated No More Heroes 2 would be the last title on the Wii. Many presumed he meant that once he is finished with No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle he would make any future sequels for the PS3 or Xbox 360.

He has cleared up this confusion in a recent interview stating what he meant was that any future incarnations of the series would be on the next Nintendo console. While Nintendo have yet to announce such a console, and with the still Wii doing so well it seems unlikely that an announcement is soon, it appears Suda51 is already looking forward to working on titles for the machine.

In the interview he also discussed the new motion controllers for the PS3 and Xbox 360 and stated that he finds them interesting as they open up new ways to play, but had no plans to bring the No More Heroes franchise out on either of these consoles. He believes that if he was to work on either of these consoles he would begin a new franchise instead.

Suda51 also claimed that Travis' storyline is finished in No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle, and if any future titles came out it would be based upon a completely new character and a new storyline. It is reasonable to presume that while the storyline will be different the ultra-violent atmosphere which made the first title so popular will still be present, but we'll have to wait for Nintendo to release another console to find out.
