News: No Matsubishi Console

Matsushita has ended all rumours that they would produce a console and also acknowledged Nintendo as a good partner.

Matsushita worked with Panasonic on the "Q" GameCube. Our source GameCube Network state that they are helping bring DVD to the next console but do not have proof. The quote they give can be found below:

"We recognise that a strong market for video game consoles exists, and this is why we already partner Nintendo. Matsushita released its own brand of the 3DO console but it was not well accepted. That experience has made us cautious in the market. A completely new Matsushita branded game console is not being developed."

Ash:

I would like to apologize for the confusion caused by this piece. It was posted by our temporary news writer who has been hired while I am on study leave to help keep news going on Cube-Europe. It seems that he got confused by the source article which says "Matsushita (Toshiba)". Recently it seems that these companies have merging in some aspects but as I do not currently know all the details I have edited the news piece to say Matsushita. I hope this news piece does not change your opinion on Cube-Europe and we hope to keep up our strong news reporting. Thank You.
