News: No Mii Upgrades For Wii

Nintendo's Mii service for the Wii will not be seeing any extras added to it, confirms NoA company Pres Reggie Fils-Aime!

While once again playing down any idea of a successor to the Wii, Nintendo of America's Reggie Fils-Aime stated "a very long life in front of it" - which will include the current Mii avatars as they are. There are no plans to expand the service, or cash in by selling extras - clothing, accessories, items etc.

"We don't believe selling clothes or hats is something that the consumers will find valuable. And candidly, if you really challenge the competitors who are playing in this space, I think they would be hard-pressed to show any true value from a consumer standpoint. What we think is important is providing real experiences."

Fils-Aime concluded by naming the Nintendo Channel, along with regular DSiWare and WiiWare updates as having more consumer value rather than trying to sell 'wearables' for Miis. We're inclined to agree. How do you feel?
