Don't go holding out for a Wii price-cut - Nintendo reveal there are no plans for one any time soon...

Despite the recent lowering of the Xbox 360 price (to a lower price point than the Wii, no less), Nintendo have stated that there are no plans to reduce the price of its massively-selling Wii console during 2008.

The company recently stated that the machine only sits on US shop shelves for about 90 seconds before it is sold - which highlights the lack of need for a price drop. If demand is still that high, there is no commercial reason to do so.

This unusually means that the Wii - released back at the end of 2006 - has still not seen a price-cut during its entire lifespan to date.
