North Americans need to mark October 21st in their diaries.
During E3 Nintendo announced plans to celebrate the Zelda franchise's 25th anniversary with a series of concerts around the world. While the details for the Japanese concert were announced a while ago Nintendo of America has just announced when North Americans will be able to listen to some of their favourite music played by a full orchestra.
The concert will take place in Los Angeles' Pantages Theatre on October 21st and is being produced by Jason Michael Paul Productions, Inc, who is also behind PLAY! A Video Game Symphony. Tickets will go on sale as of August 1st on Ticketmaster and cost from $35. Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America's executive vice president of Sales & Marketing, said the following:
"The Legend of Zelda has few peers in the pantheon of video game giants, and the games and their music have always shared a deep connection. Through these concerts, fans nationwide will be able to gather and show their love for the quarter century of action, adventure and excitement that The Legend of Zelda games have brought to their lives."
Nintendo of America also announced that the concert will be taken on tour in 2012, meaning anyone outside of L.A. will still have a chance to see the concert. Nintendo of Europe has still yet to announce plans for the European event, or perhaps events, but we'll keep you updated. The press release also claimed more information can be found by visiting http://www.zelda-symphony.com/ but at the time of writing it is password protected but should hopefully be publicly available soon.
