News: Now! That's What I Call Games

EMI is turning its music compilation series into a video game series.

The music compilation series 'Now! That's What I Call Music...' has been going since 1983 in the UK, and released as country-specific spin-offs in various locations, and now it is getting the video game treatment on the Nintendo Wii. EMI has announced that the newly formed Tubby Games will be responsible for the video game, as reported by MCV.

The team includes staff who worked on Dance:UK, released for the PS1 and PS2 back in 2004. The game will feature ten singing tracks and ten dancing tracks from artists such as Jessie J, Tinie Tempah, Dizzee Rascal, Jason Derulo, Example, JLS, Rihanna. Additionally five hip-hop dancing tracks made exclusively for the game will be included.

Discussing the announcement strategic director Neil Meredith told MCV:

Now is an evergreen title that can hold in the charts over time. We have had a great reaction from retailers already and have high expectations for it in the UK and across Europe. And this isn't about a quick volume sell-in, but extending the brand in the right way. We hope Now can repeat the success it has had in music in games."

The title is due to be released later in the year. Stay tuned for more news as it develops.
