Last week it was almost impossible to get your hands on a GameCube in the stores, because they sold like hot cakes! 400,000 Nintendo GameCubes have already been sold to the European audience. That is 80% of all the GameCubes shipped on the 3rd of May. The stores are now being re-supplied on a daily basis! The upcoming zeven weeks Nintendo will ship an additional 500,000 consoles to Europe.
Also the games have been selling very well. Gamers purchased an average of 2,3 games with their GameCube. The best-sellers were Nintendo Luigi's Mansion and Star Wars Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II.
Oh... and the average age of a Nintendo GameCube owner is 23!! Who says Nintendo only makes kiddy games?
"It has been, without doubt, a very successful launch, and this is set to continue as we bring in more stock on a regular basis in the forthcoming weeks," said Andy Williams, Nintendo UK general manager, in a statement.
