Updated: Capcom confirm Okami for the Wii, in Europe, Spring 2008.

You know the drill, as soon as Okami was launched, rumours were all around the web saying that there might be a port coming for Wii. Now it seems very likely that this is true.

Today, Capcom held a special event and the Portuguese magazine MaxiConsolas, responsible for the worldwide revealing of Nights for Wii, is reporting that an Okami port for Wii was announced at the show. The magazine is credible, but we await further confirmation.

Update, 18/10/07 1:35pm - Shacknews, Gamefront, Jeux France and Eurogamer are also reporting the same. Eurogamer says that not only will the paintbrush will be controlled with the Wii-mote, but some physical attacks too! The game should be coming out in Spring 2008.

Update 2, 18/10/07 6:08pm - Capcom have now confirmed the title will be coming to Wii in Europe this Spring. Apparently a Wii version of the title was spurred by the success of Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition!

Update 3, 18/10/07 8:56pm - The port will be handled by Ready for Dawn, who are responsible for God of War: Chains of Olympus on the PSP. More as we get it.
