Some online information for the upcoming DS title Dragon Quest: Defender of the Sky got revealed today...

Dragon Quest IX : Defender of the Sky was revealed last year by Square-Enix for the Nintendo DS. It was also mentioned that the game would feature a 4 player online co-op mode where friends could meet up with each other and go around battling monsters.

Today some details about the online system got revealed and how some things would work online. While your online with friends with your own customised character (along with it's face,gender,items and overall looks with over 10,000 character attributes) from the main game. You will also see the monster from a distance and can decide whether or not to battle it instead of random battles and once you walk up to the monster the battle commences. While you are fighting, there will be time given for you and your team makes to make a move, whether it is an attack, defence or spell.

There is will also be an option to connect to the Wii, though it is not known why and what you will be able to do.
