Richard/Dampe back from the dead...
Gamers around the world were upset at the recent news that the man behind the project to re-create the N64 Zelda classic Ocarina of Time into 2D, Richard "Dampe" Denton, had been tragically killed in a car accident.
However, N-Europe has received mail from readers asking us to clarify the issue, as it is now being widely reported that Dampe has indeed faked his own death - and is still alive and well.
Why do such a thing? It seems as if, sick of the attention he was receiving and the intense pressure by fans to finish the project, he decided to instead disappear.
Sometimes, every now and again, a little piece of news leaves us lost for words. Was Dampe wrong to do this? Leave a comment below.
UPDATE!
Yesterday, Richard Denton supposedly accessed his Youtube account to post a 'spooky' bulletin message to all non-believers. Here is what it originally said.
"Seriously guys, I am really dead. You need to stop calling me names because that is disrespectful to do to a dead person."
Interesting. You might want to take note that this has since been deleted and replaced with the following.
"Richard is really dead, please give him respect"
So what kind of black magic is this? Is Denton playing an April Fool's joke? Could he even cope with the pressure of recreating Miyamoto's masterpiece? Is he trying to escape the Chinese government? Stick with N-Europe for the latest on this master conspiracy theory.
