Nintendo DS : Opera Web Browser

News: Opera Announces Browser Launch Date

OK, I meant to point out that its for Japan.

Nintendo software partner Opera, responsible for internet browsers that will be available for both the DS and upcoming Wii, have just posted the official launch date for their DS efforts. The Opera for DS browser will allow users to surf the full internet while utilizing the DS' unique features to streamline the portable browsing experience. And thats not even from the press release, which can be found below:

Opera Software today announced that the Opera Web browser for Nintendo DS will be released in Japan on July 24. The DS browser will initially be sold online only at a price of 3,800 yen, and come with an additional memory expansion pack. Nintendo has not yet announced product release dates for the U.S. and Europe. More details about the Opera browser for Nintendo DS will be unveiled on July 24.

So, the Japanese will soon have a very powerful portable internet browsing option. Now lets pretend the rest of us will be getting it very soon after...or at least that the software will support multiple languages right off the bat. Stay tuned for future announcements pertaining to release dates in areas decidedly Not-Japan.
