News: Out On Virtual Console This Week...

Two classic titles for the VC this week, StarTropics and Alien Storm. Details inside...

This week's Virtual Console update sees the release of Alien Storm, originally from the Mega Drive. This side-scrolling action adventure sees shape-shifting aliens invade Earth with only the daring 'Alien Busters' standing in their way! Assuming the role of Karen, Garth or Scooter and each allocated their own arsenal of weapons, players must battle their way through six stages defeating aliens in order to restore the Earth to its natural order. This classic is available to download this week for 800 Wii Points. More details and screens can be found on Sega's VC site here!

Also up for grabs this week is StarTropics, originally available on the NES in 1992. Players assume the role of Mike Jones, a star pitcher from Seattle, who goes to visit his archaeologist uncle in a tropical paradise. Upon his arrival, Mike discovers his uncle has disappeared and vows to find him. StarTropics features two different styles of gameplay allowing Mike to travel on foot or in his uncle's submarine. Using a variety of weapons and items, players will have to keep their wits about them in this classic 2D top-down title. It's available now for 500 Wii Points.

Full reviews, as always, are on their way in our next issue of VC Weekly with your usual VC guru host Sam C. Gittins, and you can check out a handy guide to every single VC title released thus far in our comprehensive Virtual Console section. Nifty!
