The European Gamecube launch webcast was seen by an over 45,000 viewers, Nintendo have announced. Nintendo are said to be 'very pleased' with the amount of people who tuned in for the announcement, which marked an end to fevered speculation about the European Gamecube launch details.
"There is a lot of excitement and anticipation around Nintendo Gamecube in Europe, and the volume of traffic on the site really illustrates this," said David Gosen. "Not only that, but around 90% of visitors were consumers, the grass roots fans who are looking forward to playing the excellent games on Gamecube, with an average age above 22 years old."
Cube Europe managed to obtain a copy of the announcement before it was due to air - but Nintendo quickly discovered our finding and prevented us from showing the launch video before Monday 28th January
at 9:00 GMT (10:00 CET). However, experts at Cube Europe managed to continue to show the launch broadcast before 28/01. We exclusively revealed that the announcement was not live at all - contrary to Nintendo's previous claims.
