Sega's light-gun revival romp gets off to a strong start in the UK...

Headstrong Games' House of the Dead: Overkill released on Wii last Friday, and we adored it. It seems the nation does too, as the Wii exclusive has charged into the top 10 in the UK individual format charts (week ending Feb 14th). The full chart lies below:

• 2 NDS Mystery Case Files: Millionheir (Nintendo)
• 3 WII Mario Kart Wii (Nintendo)
• 4 WII Wii Play (Nintendo)
• 5 WII My Fitness Coach (Ubisoft)
• 6 NDS Professor Layton And The Curious Village (Nintendo)
• 7 360 F.E.A.R 2: Project Origin (Warner Bros. Interactive)
• 8 360 Left 4 Dead (Electronic Arts)
• 9 360 Call Of Duty: World At War (Activision Blizzard)
• 10 WII The House Of The Dead: Overkill (Sega)

For context purposes, the release of House of the Dead 2+3 Return saw that port enter the same chart at number 15. Incidentally, this weeks All-Format chart sees Overkill sit at number 15. 2+3 Return entered the All-Format chart at number 21 on its week of release, so it's certainly encouraging to see this original effort improve on that! Return went on to sell approximately one million copies worldwide.
