News: Pachter Claims PS3 Epic Mickey is Inevitable

Video game analyst Michael Pachter is at it again. He's now claiming that a PS3 version of Epic Mickey is inevitable.

Warren Spector has stated numerous times that Epic Mickey was made with the Wii in mind and he plans to keep it a Wii exclusive in spite of the recent release of the PlayStation Move that replicates the Wii's motion input. However, this doesn't stop Michael Pachter from claiming a PS3 version is surely in the works.

While we're aware that sometimes supposedly Wii exclusive titles eventually end up multiplatform, with NBA Jam being the most recent example, Mr. Pachter seems to be confident in his disbelief in Warren Spector's claims. Speaking in his Pach-Attack Gamestrailers show he is firm in his belief.

"I'm sure Sony is talking to them right now, the problem is upscaling Epic Mickey because it's not made in 1080p, it's made for the Wii so I'm not sure they can go ahead and port the game. I think a lot of the gameplay mechanics would work but they're going to have to build it from the ground up to make it work on PS3."

He continues to suggest that they could always release it as a downloadable title through the PlayStation Network but would have to wait a few years to get away with the Wii's inferior graphics. Time will tell if Pachter's claims will ring true but for now its probably best just to go buy the Wii version.
