News: Pachter Not Doing It for the Fanboys

Industry analyst Michael Pachter has stated that he makes predictions for investors, not fanboys.

While Michael Pacther's is one of the biggest industry analysts his words often cause an uproar from gaming fans. Computer and Video Games reports that in a new issue of Game Informer Mr. Pachter claims that his "job is not to talk to journalists, it's to talk to investors".

During the conversation with Game Informer Mr. Pachter shakes off criticism from gamers, which he often faces after making predictions, and says he has no personal interest in his predictions as he does not benefit from them. He also states that his focus is on the bigger issues so he may be wrong about the small stuff.

He claims that he probably makes an incorrect prediction every week but his clients do not care, it is only gaming fans who do. "Nobody cares if I'm right, except fanboys," he states. "My clients are merely looking for a benchmark in front of numbers so that they can assess whether the stocks of the companies I cover will go higher or lower."

"My job is not to talk to journalists, it's to talk to investors. If I say that a Wii HD is coming, it outrages fanboys who think that Nintendo always knows better, but it doesn't particularly outrage investors."
