Nintendo no longer against VC titles previously unreleased in Europe!

Despite previous statements to the contrary, a Nintendo UK spokesperson has confirmed to gaming site Eurogamer that there "is always the potential for games that haven't seen the light of day in Europe to be on the Virtual Console. The Virtual Console is the perfect platform for them." This isn't to say that any titles are being planned, just that the window is now open.

And not just for first-party titles either. "I can't speak for third-parties," the spokesperson continued, "but if it's the right game then there's absolutely no reason why it should just be a first-party game."

Nintendo of America's George Harrison was recently quoted as saying something similar about the US Virtual Console - that Japanese games which never originally saw release in English could be made available if translated properly.
