News: Phantasy Star III Hits VC

A Mega Drive RPG classic arrives on the Wii Shop Channel, and it's no Phinal Phantasy...

Sega are continuing with their onslaught (okay, so they released one game) of Phantasy Star titles with the arrival of Phantasy Star III: Generations of Doom on the Virtual Console this week.

The title was released on the Mega Drive in 1991, and has since been subject to several re-releases across the last three console generations. You take the role of Rhys, the prince of the kingdom of Landen who witnesses the capture of his fianceé by a demonic flying beast. Rhys attempts to start an inter-racial war with the dragons who took his bride, gets locked up by his father and ordered to calm down, one of his admirers breaks him out, and so begins Rhys' epic quest to get back his bride and try for a second attempt at his wedding.

Phantasy Star III is available on the Virtual Console now for 800 Wii Points.
