News: Phoenix Wright Movie In Development

The spikey-haired lawyer is heading to the silver screen courtesy of Takashi Miike.

While film adaptations of video games are hardly uncommon a newly announced one has certainly grabbed our attention. Speaking to The Huffington Post Japanese film Director Takashi Miike, famous for his violent and bloody films, mentioned he was working on an adaptation of Phoenix Wright.

Miike is best known for films such as Ichi the Killer, The Happiness of the Katakuris and Audition but he has also adapted a number of anime shows into live action films. Speaking of his next project and how it won't be violent he told the newspaper: "It is a very light comedy that I am filming now, a court drama, based on a video game, the Nintendo game DS."

At present no more information is available but we are certainly intrigued by the prospect. Let us know if you have any objections in the comments section below.
