Nintendo of Japan have launched the official Pikmin 2 mini-site!
Who would have thought that growing little onion-men would be so much fun? The original Pikmin was one of the Gamecubes' most innovative and quirky titles when launched on the machine. Developed by Shigeru Miyamoto and set in his garden, no-one can doubt that it was a rather audacious project. It was greeted with some acclaim and praise, but one thing is for certain: it was too short and too easy.
However, Pikmin 2 seeks to address those issues and present a stunning game at the same time! New features are to include the absence of a fixed time limit in the game, so that you are free to explore and roam throughout the Pikmin planet. Also included is an underground world, where there are no Pikmin onions to generate new Pikmin, so you have to make every Pikmin count!
Furthermore, there will be two player modes included, a co-operative mode where Captain Olimar and his asistant work together to gather the valuable treasure from the planet, a challenge mode set in the underground world and a battle mode where you strike at the heart of your opponents' territory to gain marbles!
There is still no firm European release date for Pikmin 2, but you can visit the japanese site by clicking here. There is also a new Pikmin 2 movie available on the site! Go see it now!
