Have Nintendo given away the title of their Pikmin threequel in a trademark?

And the answer to that question is: probably not. Some internet sites this morning have been reporting the trademarking of "Piktura", just weeks before the E3 conference where the existence of a third Pikmin game was revealed.

Are we looking at the name of Miyamoto's latest Pikmin title? Well, short of the "Pik" prefix, it seems unlikely. Why change the name of the franchise, instead of just titling it Pikmin? Of course, this "Piktura" trademark may very likely have something to do with the game - though we doubt it will be the title.
