News: Plain Sight Announced for WiiWare

Here's an unusual concept for a video game - kill yourself to score points.

Beatnik Games' Plain Sight was originally released on PC last year but it is now getting a WiiWare port. The official site states that a WiiWare version is in development at the moment.

The title is described as "a multiplayer arcade game about suicidal ninja robots." Players must kill other robots using their katanas to steal their energy, which in turn makes you bigger, faster "and generally more awesome.

An unusual twist in this common "kill to get ahead" formula comes from the need to convert energy into points - by killing yourself. You press a button and turn into a ball of energy-absorbing plasma and you must take out as many opponents as possible. After this you will be upgraded and re-spawned and start all over again.

Plain Sight features 13 maps with the ability to battle up to 20 players. There will also be five gameplay modes; Deathmatch, Ninja! Ninja! Ninja! Robozilla! (in which mini ninjas unite to take down a giant Robozilla), Lighten Up (whereby you must detonate on a certain area and the best wins the round), Team Deathmatch / Weakest Clink (a standard team deathmatch or you can have a communal score bank) and Capture the Flag.

The website states Plain Sight will be released a year after the PC version, which came out on April 5th 2010 so expect more news soon. A trailer for the PC version can be viewed below.
