News: Play Upcoming Nintendo Games This Weekend

If you're in London on Saturday swing by Somerset House to play some recently released and upcoming titles such as Xenoblade Chronicles.

This weekend Nintendo will be supporting the 'Behind the Screen Gaming Day' at Somerset House in London. The series of screenings and talks is being arranged by Film 4 and on Saturday 6th August 2011 they are also hosting a gaming day, which is being supported by Nintendo.

Fans or curious passer-bys will be able to drop-in and play a range of Nintendo games on both the 3DS and Wii. The website lists Lego Pirates of the Caribbean 3D, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D and Xenoblade Chronicles as three games that will definitely be there. Presumably there will be others so if you're in the area drop by and enjoy some games courtesy of Nintendo.

For anyone interested in the process of making games there will also be a family-orientated workshop to allow visitors to create their own games based on their ideas. If any adults are interested there will also be a masterclass talk from Gary Napper and Mike Barwise, who have worked on the Harry Potter franchise, about how a game goes from an idea to a finalised product. Unfortunately tickets are now sold out but we will be attending so let us know if you'd like a write up in the comments section below.
