More news about the new Pokemon GameCube game.

Yesterday we told you about rumours of a new Pokemon game for GameCube. It now appears that the game has been officially announced. CVG spoke to NOE head of PR Shelly Friend who said "We can confirm that [this announcement] is correct, however we have made no specific announcement regarding our plans in Europe."

So the GameCube is definately getting a Pokemon game, and I don't think you need to worry too much about a PAL version.

The game then, will require you to link up a Gameboy Advance (or GBA-GC player) with Pokemon Ruby or Sapphire. It will also retail for a lower price than GBA games do, which might not seem like such a bargain after you've bought a GBA and Ruby/Sapphire.

Details about the game are not known, but it's expected that the GameCube game will be a big screen version of the GBA adventure. A 3D, big screen version of the handheld GBA titles is what a lot of Pokemon fans have been craving for a long time, now it seems they may have it.
