Nintendo announced the results of an independent survey on the Pokemon series which polled over 2000 parents. In what can be termed a landslide victory for the monster catching series, more than 75% of those polled think that it promotes good values, strategic thinking, improves memory and teamwork.

The survey was conducted by Impulse Research Group of Los Angeles, but commissioned by Nintendo. In what isn't exactly a shock, Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen shipped in the US today. What an amazing coincidence, eh?

The "new" games are remakes of Game Boy titles from 1997 that have made more news for the wireless link adapters they include, which are the reason for the $39.99 price tags.
