The Pokémon franchise is hitting Android and iPhone devices in Japan.

In a rather surprising move The Pokémon Company has announced a brand new game for the Android and iPhone platforms called Pokémon Say Tap?, a rhythm game due out later in the year.

The title will require you to tap along to music from the anime and is set to be free of charge. The move is a surprising one given Nintendo's president Satoru Iwata speaking out against the mobile gaming industry and giving away free products in the past.

There is no word yet as to whether or not it will make its way to America or Europe but we'll keep you updated.
