Prepare yourself for the adventure of the year as Nintendo takes you on a thrilling journey, seen for the first time ever through the eyes of a Pokémon. Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team for the Nintendo DS and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team for the Game Boy Advance both launch across Europe on 10th November 2006.
Poké-fans are in for a unique treat in the latest role-playing adventure from the popular franchise. Bucking the normal trend, players in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team actually get to play as a Pokémon rather than a human trainer. Mysteriously transformed overnight, the player awakes to find themselves in the guise of one of 16 different Pokémon including Pikachu, Charmander, Squirtle and Bulbasaur. The character, which the player transforms into is automatically selected based on answers given to a personality test. If you have a fiery temperament you might find yourself playing Charmander, whereas those with an electric personality could end up as a popular character like Pikachu.
At the beginning of each of these games the player must partner up with another creature to help out other Pokémon and uncover the mystery behind their transformation. With more than 380 Pokémon, including legendary ones, available to meet in the main adventure and dozens of bonus missions there is enough here to keep players busy for months. Every dungeon in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team are randomly generated meaning that no level is the same twice and with so many Pokémon to encounter unlocking them all will be no mean feat!
There will be two versions of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon at launch, one for the Nintendo DS and one for the Game Boy Advance. However an added benefit to Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team is that it will take advantage of the Nintendo DS's second screen to display a map and the touch-screen to activate certain functions. Gamers will be able to link between both versions of the game to trade items wirelessly using Nintendo DS Wireless communication. Same console trades are also possible using the GameBoy Advance link cable.
Another unique function of this game is the password based Rescue Mode. Players who fail to complete a dungeon can save themselves the time and effort of continuing from their last save by giving their friends a unique password. This will allow their friend's team to enter the dungeon and rescue them, allowing their team to continue from where they fainted. What's more players can enter Rescue Mode in a variety of ways, using the Link Cable for Game Boy to Game Boy, wirelessly between Nintendo DS consoles and even using the two slots on the Nintendo DS when communicating between Nintendo DS and Game Boy Advance.
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team for the Nintendo DS and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team for the Game Boy Advance will launch across Europe on 10th November 2006 for the estimated retail price of around 30.
