The three big guns of the games industry have all announced the times, dates, and locations for their annual pre-E3 press conferences. All info after the jump...
May 10th and E3 are slowly creeping up on us and all eyes and interest of games journos and fans alike are focusing in on the Los Angeles Convention Center. But in the two days before the actual expo Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft will try to out do each other and grab more attention than the others, with their Pre-E3 press conferences.
Nintendo will be holding its press conference at 9:30am PST (approx. 5:30pm UK/Ireland time, 6:30pm CET) on May 9, 2006 at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood, California. Attendees can expect to hear more details on the Revolution console, as well as software for the platform, and more information concerning its unique controller. And let's not forget we will see the world's first public demonstration of the Revolution as the (extremely) lucky winner of Nintendo and AOL's sweepstakes competition will take the stage to be the first ever consumer to play with Nintendo's next home console. The real question is which game will he/she play, could it be Red Steel... or something we don't even yet know about?
Also expected is additional details on the company's redesigned DS Lite handheld, including more details on Legend Of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, which Nintendo president Satoru Iwata unveiled at GDC last month.
Sony will be holding its pre-E3 conference from 2:00 pm (approx. 10:00pm UK/Ireland, 11:00pm CET) on May 8, 2006 at the Sony Pictures Studio in Culver City, California. Sony is expected to finally confirm the PS3's price point and show playable PS3 titles, as well as finalize any remaining details left over from the Game Developers Conference in March.
Microsoft will host its event at 11:30am PST (approx. 7:30pm UK/Ireland, 8:30pm CET) on May 9th, at Grauman's Chinese Theatre. A change of venue from previous years' Shrine Auditorium, Microsoft is not expected to hold back this year, even though it has already launched the Xbox 360.
So just a little over two weeks left to wait.
