Today Ubisoft told Cube-Europe the official street dates for the GameCube version of its highly anticipated Prince of Persia and the innovative adventure Beyond Good & Evil.
Unfortunately, both games didn't sell sell as well as Ubisoft expected. We at Cube-Europe were also suprised by the quick disappearence of Prince of Persia from the software charts, and the low sales for Beyond Good & Evil. The latter forced Ubisoft to drop the price of the adventure for all formats in America. All this will have its affect in Europe also...
Ubisoft said it will release both titles for the GameCube on the 26th of February in both Europe and Australia, but not for regular price. In Europe, Beyond Good & Evil will retail for the budget price of 29.99 and Prince of Persia will retail for 44.99. In Australia, the games will cost respectively AUS$49.95 and AUS$99.95.
So we will soon get both games, and for a lower price. I am sure this must make the gamers throughout Europe happy. Ubisoft, however, is probably not jumping around with joy. They have suffered for their innovation, which is a difficult pill to swallow in the current games market.
