Ubisoft lifts the lid on the Wii version of Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands...
While Ubisoft officially announced the existence of Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands late last year, the company has waited until now to pull back the curtain on the Wii version.
While the HD version of the game is being handled by Ubisoft Montreal, the Wii version is being built "entirely from the ground up" by Ubisoft Quebec, who have had extensive experience of porting some of the company's notable titles onto lesser-powerful handhelds. However, the developer is emphasising its commitment to deliver impressive visuals and a 'blockbuster experience'.
The game itself takes place just after Sands of Time and before Warrior Within. The Forgotten Sands looks to return to the series' familiar focus on acrobatic adventuring and control over the sands of time. The game will also make use of the Wii's unique controller, utilising the Wii Remote's motion-sensing capabilities to swing your sword and the Nunchuck's accelerometer for melee combat.
Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands releases in North America on May 18th and in Europe on May 20th.
