News: Pro Evo '08 Announced...

The world's premier football game is set to kick-off this Autumn, though not on Wii.

Konami have officially announced that the next installment in the popular Pro Evolution series will release this autumn on PS3, Xbox 360, PC, PS2, PSP and Nintendo DS platforms.

Yes you read correct, there has been no announcement on a Wii version. This is despite reports earlier in the year confirming that Konami were working on a football title. So where does this leave football fans who are hankering for more than Mario Strikers and the top down view centric FIFA 08. Playing the waiting game sadly...

There is however perhaps a solution. The ISS series. Since the Pro Evo series first became a best seller ISS has become something of a testing ground for different takes on the beautiful game, such as the arcadey iterations on the Gamecube, where you could use slow mo effects to help you play. Could we be seeing ISS take Konami's first steps into the world of waggle football?

Konami's announcement said very little about the DS version utilising the new proprietary A.I system 'TeamVision' that is being promoted as the biggest difference in the next gen and PC versions, however we can likely expect a version with better graphics and commentary than previous titles in the series.
