As year-totals from America are published, it seems the DS wasn't the most popular handheld in the US last year. But then neither was the PSP...
Despite having sold more than the PSP in total, the last twelve months saw 2.43 million units of the DS sold in America, compared to 3.63 million for the PSP, which had it's launch across the pond on March 24th.
Neither system was the most popular handheld of the year though - suprisingly, that honour went to Nintendo's GBA, which sold over 4.26 million! No doubt the launch of Game Boy Micro helped, but it's still an impressive figure for technology which has now been around since 2001.
Overall, the GBA and DS gave Nintendo a combined market share of 65%.
