News: Q for less

Following Nintendo's lead Panasonic have announced that they are slashing the RRP of their 'Q' hybrid system. A pricecut for the 'Q' has been widely expected for some time, and Panasonic have answered their critics by lowering the price of their gorgeous unit.

Panasonic's GameCube-hybrid system, Q, has been a massive success for both Nintendo and Panasonic. The Q system has helped Nintendo acheive more recognition for its Gamecube console in Japan across a wider demographic.

Panasonic has seen it fit to reduce the price of the Q in aid of making it more affordable to consumers. The DVD-playing Gamecube will be now sold for a wallet-friendly 34800 yen (290 ) - a reduction of 5000 yen from 39800 yen (330 ) ! The pricecut will come into effect immediately according to Panasonic HQ.

Matsushita (the owner of the Panasonic brand) still have no plans for a western release of their silver beauty. However, importers should be able to offer you a 'Q' for a more reasonable price than ever before. Here's to hoping . . .
